Pollinator Gardens

Today is the day! Although it doesn’t feel like it with all of the snow on the ground today is the best day for fall planting. The ground has frozen and will stay frozen for several months until spring when the seeds will have the moisture and warmth they need to germinate.

The Beaverhead Conservation District has pollinator seed available for small pollinator gardens in three different varieties including Southwest Montana mix, conservation mix, and backyard mix. The seed is free, and we can give out seeds for plots as large as 1,500 square feet. All you have to do is schedule an appointment to come talk to us with a general idea of how big your plot is and what your goals are for your pollinator garden. Your pollinator garden may require some site prep if your plot is not already down to bare ground, it is a good idea to bring a photo of your site in so we can advise the best way to prep your site.

We will also have seed available in the spring when planting is much more enjoyable and feasible, give us a call to get yours today (406) 683-3802.
